Overview :   Medicaid/Medicare

Medicare is a health insurance program for people age 65 or older, and people under age 65 with certain disabilities. Medicaid pays for health assistance for certain low-income individuals and families who fit into an eligibility group that is recognized by federal and state law, such as adults with developmental disabilities. There are also Medicaid programs for children with developmental disabilities who meet certain income guidelines. Medicaid is a state administered program and each state sets its own guidelines regarding eligibility and services. SOS is a statewide support network of parents, family members, people with developmental disabilities and professionals who are matched with peer mentors to share experiences, offer emotional support and to network with others. You can request an individual parent to parent or peer support match with another parent or individual who has experienced similar circumstances.
